Hagerstown was a busy spot on the Western Maryland, the railroad through which I came of age as a train painter. The locomotive facility there hosted more than
just Western Maryland power. Other railroads called on Hagerstown, heading up trains from the west, eastern ports, and up from the Shenandoah Valley. This
painting is of a cold day, at the locomotive ready tracks, with an iconic Western Maryland F7 locomotive. The painting has a long exhibition history, including
several awards, and acceptance for national exhibition by the Salmagundi Club of New York City.
