My friend Geoff Doughty asked me to do another cover painting for a book on the Burlington Route's post war Zephyrs.
He wanted to feature the Twin Cities Zephyr, so that became the subject of the cover. Heading up along the
Mississippi River, the line hugs the shore in some magnificent bucolic scenery, with the bluffs punctuating the
skyline. This painting was conceived over the phone with Geoff, and we wanted to show the observation car about to
meet some brand new Burlington U25Bs, coming into the picture.
