BL2 Study for a cover painting

The Chesapeake & Ohio Railway, one of the giants of the East, was noted for many distinctive locomotives, but the
BL2 was not ranked as one of their signature engines. The author asked me if I was familiar with the BL2, and I
chuckled and assured him that I could draw one blindfolded, which is, seemingly, how the designers at EMD did it.
By pure coincidence, its homely design was not new to me, as I had watched them and been on board them many times
while railfanning the Western Maryland. So this illustration assignment was a piece of cake. Another BL2 painting
of mine made the cover.
