The streamlined version of the Baltimore & Ohio's 4-6-2 was an all-coach train that ran from
Baltimore to Cincinnati. Although the train boasted a 95% on-time performance record, its life of service
was shortlived. This somewhat unusual-looking steam engine in its brilliant blue color with black and
gold accent, was strikingly beautiful in a snowy backdrop like that portrayed in this painting.
