The town of Cyril, Oklahoma (pronounced "sur-RILL" by the local folk) lies on the Frisco's Southwest Extension between Oklahoma City and Lawton. Before there
was the modern highway between those towns, passenger service by the Frisco Railway was the best way to get around. Cyril was served by a few passenger
trains. Until recently, Cyril seemed frozen in time, and it was no stretch to imagine a steam locomotive pulling a short train of passenger cars stopped in
front of the depot on the edge of town. Keeping to a leisurely schedule, it allowed the conductor and a local rancher to engage in conversation.
