There seems to be no limit to inspiration created by having watched Frisco freight trains in the early 1960s throughout the western half of Oklahoma, where
most of the terrain is anything but flat. The prairie is gently rolling, with waves of hills of red clay, the bane of farmers, ranchers, and gardeners, but
which serves as a signature of Oklahoma to me. While stationed at Fort Sill, I would often venture out into the area to catch trains, and never tired of seeing
Frisco's fast freights rolling along the undulating landscape.
