This CD book contains George Melvin's outstanding series on Alco's PA,
which he refers to as "the Burly Beauty." It documents the PA's use by its original owners and subsequent owners and
provides a photographic record of these engines. George also covers the history of the development of early dieselization on
the roads that purchased the PAs. You'll find photos of PAs in use by its American and Mexican buyers. CD contains 89
photos, of which 40 are in color. This CD book is a valuable research tool for both diesel modelers and
railfans alike. Presented in PDF format (Adobe® Reader® 5.0 or later required), the text is fully
searchable, and all of the high-resolution photos can be zoomed in on for close examination of
every detail...something not possible with a printed version. Because the images are 300 dpi rather than the more common 96
dpi, readers can get an extremely close look at fine details. Pages can be printed for personal use. The 40-page series was
first published in Model Railroading magazine between February and October 1999.
