Round Valley Rendezvous
by Marc Desobeau
Oil/acrylic on stretched canvas
Original Painting Image size 24"
x 36" Simple Aluminum Frame
The passing of two trains breaks the crisp quiet of the morning air. We are trackside at Bridge No. 6
on the Union Pacific Railroad’s busy mainline through the Wasatch Mountains. Locomotive number 3901 leads an eastbound freight over the Weber River, and a CA-1
caboose brings up the rear of a westbound freight. Locomotive number 3901, a Challenger-type engine, was designed to pull heavy loads in mountainous territory. This
scene depicts activity on the Union Pacific Railroad in the 1940s. This location is near Morgan, Utah (about 25 miles east of Ogden). In a few moments the trains will
have passed, and the quiet will return to Round Valley.
