For many reasons, the Northern Pacific Railway was considered the classic American railroad company. After riding
on the NP a few times when I returned from tours of duty in Asia, I came to appreciate the high regard the company
enjoyed from travelers, shippers, and others in the industry. Besides seemingly endless miles of flat prairie, the
line passed through the Rocky Mountains in Montana and Idaho and offered fantastic scenery, ideal for expressing an
iconic painting. This large painting dates back to 1985, and has been displayed at countless juried art shows and competitions.
